Long Drive Event
The Long Drive Event of the Endless Summer Invitational will be a unique format. For starters, the professionals will only be able to use drivers under 46 inches long. We want you to see how these pros hit it with a standard length driver. Professionals will be playing 18 holes of tournament golf with their amateur teams. While on the golf course each professional will be qualifying for the final 8 match play finals with 3 qualifying balls on each of the par 5’s. Officials will be present to mark yardage. Longest drives are defined by the shortest distance left to the hole within the marked fairway. A laser will be used to calculate distance left to the hole. The longest drives on each of the par 5’s will qualify for the final 8 match play after the round. The final match play shoot out will follow Monday’s Pro-Am and include eight players. Prize money will be awarded based on the outcome of Monday evening’s shoot out. During this time chefs will also be competing with their own culinary challenges to be judged TOP CHEF of the Endless Summer Invitational. All judging will be handled by participants and attendees.
The event will kick off with a James Bond theme gala at Seacliff Country Club. The dinner gala is a key element of the fundraising efforts for Golfers Against Cancer. Golfers and their guests will enjoy a special black-tie affair including great food, entertainment and both live and silent auctions—all while mingling with long drive professionals, community and business leaders. Bring your casino skills because after dinner you and your guest will enjoy a fully equipped casino with all the table games you can imagine. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top chip winners.
This is a chance for amateurs to play golf with the world’s longest golfers. Players will be able to choose their team for the Pro-Am but the pro will be determined randomly. However, teams can bid to be paired with long drive professionals who have the best career record. Teams will play a shamble format with the option to play the pro’s drive and use the pro’s score. All Pro-Am participants are invited to relax and unwind following the tournament by enjoying food, drinks and front-row seats to Monday’s final long drive shoot out.
